Currently and back then.
Sep 8th
Its the mid-week again. This is an awesome week, because of Hari Raya, I declare that its holidays from now on! cheerios! Its a 3-day-week! :D
Life isn’t smooth sailing at all. I stumble alot. I can’t ease myself whenever i think of 8 more weeks down the road. Its the exams. I can barely remember what I’ve learnt. Wait. Before that, the week after next marks the start of all the mid-terms. Goodness me i have a cramped week full of CAs!!!
Anyway school kinda sucks for me, really. I got crazy thoughts of transferring to NTU. No one assured NTU would be any better, but at least I know I have my dearies over there, and I learnt the lesson of not choosing my electives just because of my timetable. Even coming to school for 2 hours lectures a day for a module I like, is damn worth it.
YES I LEARNT MY LESSON, God, would you pull me through this semester?
Anyway. I’m back to using my netbook quite abit and I just realised I have my Vietnam trip’s holidays photos here! Teehee. Its been more than 9 months! HAHA!
On the airplane!! :D
Hotel for the first night, i think! HAHA!
Younger brother & I! I think we looked so young then. HAHA, what happened within months? ;)
Aunties, Momsie, Daddy, and ME! <3
Brother & I.
Nice photo! :)) But got those emo feel.
Momsie & I! I love my pink jacket! HEE. Haven’t worn it much since the trip; should wear it more!!
This is somewhere in Vietnam. Apologies, its 9 months back. Even if it were 2 months back I wouldn’t be able to remember already.. >.>
But yeah, for this i know!! To house on stilts turn left, and to mango road, turn right!! :)
They have BBQ Chicken there too! A mega outlet lolol!
HAHA I look so retarded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Momsie & I again! Realised I didn’t take any individual photos with Daddy! At least not on my camera! =(
Hehee, love this! We were on a ‘cruise’ I think. Towards somewhere offshore.
This is some natural cave which were eroded naturally to become like this? Yesss, we were on the ‘cruise’ to reach this cave! I think!
This must be their emperor or something. HAHA! I really don’t know!
Aiya. NO idea why I took this photo! Nothing significant!
These statues got those Terra-cotta soldiers feel. haha, but of course its not! This is Vietnam, not China!!
See the HAPPY NEW YEAR banner? :) We spent our last few days of 2009 and first few days of 2010 there!!!
The most left is daddy, and me! :)
The
The whole group of us! :))) I love the people I met during the tour!!! :D
Some lil local kids I met at the lobby of the hotel!! The one I’m holding with my left hand is the CUTEST!!! My favourite. But also the most mischievous!
Another tourist spot. Some old place, which apparently was quite famous, but I can’t remember!
This is our tour guide’s grand daughter. HAHA. She brought her along..
& These are KFC’s egg tarts!!!! So awesome, they have it way before SIngapore had it! :D I still love KFC egg tarts!!!
I can’t wait for our next family trip!!! :)
Facing changes – tips for confidence!
Sep 5th
Facing changes.
I’m sure everyone heard of the phrase, “change is the only constant”.
And most of the times changes results in us becoming less confident and competent than our usual self. Escaping or ‘hiding’ from the change doesn’t help, perhaps if it does, its only in the initial state.
Nevertheless, one way of understanding your anxieties (due to the changes) is to realise that its your way of reacting when you can’t predict what’s going to happen. This reaction is like a ‘core’ and its all in-built in everyone of us.
Every human being will experience this fear, and its about how you manage it. Some manage it fine and manage to overcome and adapt to changes, while others stumble a little..
The same logic: if you think you’ll handle the change well, you will. (:
Basically, all it takes is to try to get rid of the self-doubt feeling, by being more confident of yourself!!
- Focus only on things that you do well.
-do so by being very positive-minded, squeeze out all the negative thoughts. spend more time doing something you’re good at/ or at least enjoy doing, and that’ll give you something like a confidence-boost! :D - Power of speech.
-the way we all converse makes a huge difference as its able to portray our enthusiasm and excitement towards a matter; and that indirectly causes others to respond to you more positively. smile; even if you’re talking on the phone, as it results in better enunciation! - Negotiate more ‘me time’.
-spend more time doing things you like rather than things you’re doing out of obligations. no doubts we all have obligations in life, but things are always negotiable. it is always good to do things willingly instead of being ‘forced’ to. - Be assertive.
-assert yourself, be sure about your own feelings and emotions without alienating others. be firm, but pleasant. sometimes put yourself in other’s shoes, if required. - Visualise success
-i’m sure everyone know how sweet success feels, so just visualise it and start living positively, from day to day for a couple of months. eventually, you’ll not only feel, but taste the fruits of success. - Just relax.
-relaxation is vital for creative thinking, and you need your creative juices to flow to solve problems!! breathing more than 12 times a minute shows that you’re breathing too shallowly and too fast! :) - Become a winner.
-understand that winning comes in all forms and think yourself as a winner. do something you like (i.e. your hobby), you may not be the best but as long as you’re enjoying, you’re a winner too! ;) - Stick with friends.
-not just any friend; but friends who are caring, who foster you. there will be bound to be those whom you will have obligations, but for everyone else, you have a choice. make sure your friends make you feel good about yourself!! - Deal with disappointments.
-i always say this: life is never smooth-sailing. there will be times when things dont go the way you want them to. nonetheless, its not the end of the world. allow yourself sometime to be upset and after which, bounce back to your usual positive self! & finally.. - Turn yourself inside out!
-an outside-in person craves attention and is only self-concerned. being an inside-out person, you focus on others as well. you’ll become more confident as others start responding to your openness and interest in them.
I adapted these tips from Cleo magazine (but mostly rephrased); because I found them really useful. I, myself is one victim when facing changes. Hopefully, after reading, you get some insights on how to have a little more confidence in yourself!
ALL THE BEST :)
Legend of the Fist!
Sep 2nd
I just found out a couple of days ago, that Donnie Yen♥ is starring in another new movie, that is going to debut on the 23rd of September!!! (Omg just realised its ONE day before my Birthday! :P) HEHE. Its non other than Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen,
精武風雲-陳真!
It was only in year 2009, when I caught the movie ‘Bodyguards and Assassins’ that I got to know of his (Donnie Yen) existence! (I still remember I blogged about this movie last year!, about how good it was!) I know I know, pathetic I know. It was because I didn’t catch the awesome movie ‘Ip Man’ in 2008! :( I’m a tad slow. I think its alright, because I started appreciating his movies since then! :)) He’s totally admirable!
& then in 2010, it was Ip Man 2! Another biggest box office hit! HEHE. Can’t stop raving how awesome he is!! & I really really love the movie!! I love Donnie Yen!! After catching this movie, I’ll never want to miss any movies starring Donnie Yen! Heeee. =))
I’m sure many of you are probably like me, but I think its never too late to start liking him! I think he’s really good as an actor and he fights really well!! :D
I’m a lazy bum who never bothers doing research on movies; but knowing that he has this upcoming movie, I went to wikipedia a little, and found the whole list of movies he starred in. Amazed, I am, it all started since 1983, and he’s only 47 currently. *WOAHHH* & wiki is so updated that even movies starring Donnie Yen that are showing only in 2011/2012 are already out on the list!
Enough said. Conclusion: I can’t wait for Legend of the Fist! :) I wanna see Donnie Yen! I wanna see him fight!!
Anyway, here’s the synopsis. Its an Andrew Lau film..hoho!
While China is traumatized by military cliques during the World War era in
the 1020s, Shanghai is the cynosure of all eyes. People see it as both Hell’s
Kitchen and Heaven’s Gate/ One of the city’s most memorable heroes has to be
Chen Zhen, who single-handedly avenges his mentor’s death by killing all the
Japanese at a dojo in Hongkou, only to be showered with bullets while making
his legendary flying kick. Vanished from the public eye ever since, he has been
taken dead though his body is never found.
Seven years later, a wealthy entrepreneur called Koo returns from abroad
and makes a grand entrance on the Shanghai social scene by befriending the
notorious mafia boss of the city. This mysterious man is none other than Chen
Zhen in disguise who dwells in a world of nefarious means in order to infiltrate
the criminal empire. He soon discovers a clandestine collusion between the
mafia and the Japanese.
Disguised as a caped crusader at night, Chen sets out to dismantle with his
martial arts skill the evil collusion that plaques the country. One of his foremost
missions is to ferret out the assassination list prepared by the Japanese…
if you wanna know more about the movie, head on to their official website: http://mediaasia.com/legendofthefist/
Remember to catch it 23rd September onwards! I’ll be sure to, too!!! :))
& I’ll definitely do a review after I do! Pretty sure it’ll ROCK, because Donnie Yen is also the action director of this film! HEHEHE!
Mambo # 5!
Sep 1st
Hellooooooo everyone!!!! :))) I’m back!!! Remember, its Wednesday! :P Heeee! Favourite day of the week; mid-week!
I’m so sorry I haven’t been updating much of late, but I’m really trying my very best to.
From today onwards, I’m going to change the way I manage my time/use my time. I’m going to sleep much earlier. I’m sick and tired of falling asleep during lectures and end up hating myself for doing so! & sometimes, regret I went for the lectures because I slept through out. Gotta make the time going for lectures worth it.
Today was a total embarrassment. I was dozing off the whole time during IT lecture, worst thing was I was seated at the aisle. Imagine that. Xin Hui said the way I slept was really funny. ZOMG!
Anyway. Some overdued photos taken the week before last, when I went Zouk. HAHA! :D It was a Wednesday, Ladies’ Night and Mambo for zouk. Never liked mambo due to the songs but it was not that bad this time round! Because Nix had two friends who could really dance!!!! & We tried really (reallllyyyy) hard to follow! :P HAHA! Thinking of it just tickles. I can’t follow movements for nuts, no dance sense!!! HAHA!
Alrighty, photos time :D
It was supposed to be a geeky theme, thus you’ll see us wearing glasses in the photos below! HEHE!
Woman! :)) All the very very best!! I know you’ll have a good time over there, just don’t forget US! :D Study hard, play harder!
The 4 of us! Its really fate that we all met. :))) (+ the other 3 of them who weren’t @ Zouk w/ us that day!)

Wanted to *show* my falsies but apparently its the wrong angle! Can’t see my falsies at all! D:
HEEE. :)
Camwhoreeeeeeee!!
Photo spam only!
HEHE, the 4 of us and Nix’s 2 friends!! Who are damn pro mambo dancers!!
Groupie shot!
Loveeeeeee you girls!
The girlssss!
Geeky much?! Can’t stand reflections on glasses though, hate it!
Another self-whore group shot! Successsssss! :D
Likes this photo much!! :D
HEHE! Will end here for now! Be back again! :]
Happy Merdeka 2010!
Aug 31st
Here comes another celebration!
Its the 31st of August!
HAPPY 53TH BIRTHDAY MALAYSIA!
As far as I remember, Merdeka day had always fell on Weekends or at least the Fridays, so I could always enjoy the myriad of fireworks just outside my window at home in JB.
But this year, since it falls on a Monday, a schooling day, I’m unable to admire it this year.. Awwww.
I can’t even hear fireworks; so unlike the entry I penned down two years back.
:)
Nevertheless,
I wish for a safer country for my family and I to live in! (My main concern!) I hate to live in fear, and in fear of my family member’s safety.
& Of course a more prosperous country!! :D
p.s.: can I request for faster internet too? :P not too greedy am i?
Once again,
HAPPY MERDEKA, MALAYSIA!
(Merdeka basically means Independence day! :D )
