backdate and reminisce. annual dinner and dance 0910: Monte Carlo!

okay besides the usual words words and more words entries. i’m gonna fill you guys in with pictures this time round!!
first of all, may i present you pictures from the school of chemical and life sciences’ annual dinner and dance, which was held at the Conrad Centennial hotel on the 6th of March.
girlies reserved a hotel room at Pan Pacific! And we went in early in the noon to slack abit, bathe before we dolled ourselves up! :D we started off like this. hahahaha.

with some of the lecturers whom imparted knowledge to us! didn’t get to take any photos with the others.
everyone dressed up smartly and beautifully! :D pardon the many repeated faces you’re seeing (especially mine!) because i’ve got a limited circle of friends. :/
hehe. and after which. girlies went wild. we went clubbing! mad fun. which i miss. terribly. unfortunately. hahahaha.
and sooo..i’ll end the post with one of my hot fav photo! (: no point making more collages because most of the photos are basically around the same except for expressions/positions etc. heee. (:
i miss you girlies so! hehehe we’re finally meeting tomorroww. hope we’ll have LOTS of photos taken so that i can come up with another photo entry..of my adventure shopping trip with the girlies to Bangkok, Thailand! :)))

Saving the world, you can do a part.

Everyone around the equator is complaining about the heat recently. People on the other side of the world is experiencing longer winter. but have anyone of us thought of what can we do to salvage the problem?
I personally experienced it this holidays, when I went to Germany/Austria. Usually by March, the weather starts to change to become less cold (Spring), before it gets warm by April for summer. Apparently this year the cold lasted longer than it usually does! When we went, the temperature was still below 10 degree celcius most of the time. Thank goodness it gradually changed to be warmer towards the end of our trip. (Actually I loved the cold weather, I got to see SNOW in one of the cities. The others only had collected ice (snow) on the grounds.. but you never know how much the Caucasians were craving for summer season.)
And at the same time around Asia the temperature had been rising by one or two degree celcius recently!
It is firmly believed by scientists around the world that this is caused by the phenomenon ‘Global Warming’.
So what is global warming then?
Wikipedia defines it as ‘Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of Earth’s near-surface air and oceans’ and it is postulated that there will be continued increment if we do not start ’saving’ the world.
What consequences does the increase in temperature of the Earth cause? Let me fill you in with some examples from wiki.
- causes sea levels to rise thus flooding in low lying areas around the world.
- change the amount and pattern of precipitation (rain etc.), probably including expansion of subtropical deserts.
if you still don’t get the seriousness. the glaciers and ice bergs will start to melt as well. I personally have not seen any of these beautiful natural ‘landforms’ and I would very much love to see them with my own eyes before they all melt off. i believe you, you & YOU would love and want the same thing for yourself and also your future generations!

Aren’t they natural beauties? I really hope to see themmmm with my very own eyes and not just through pictures like these.. if the temperature continues to rise, we’ll lose the sight of these landforms very very soooon..
So its time to start saving the Earth!

hahaha. isn’t that amazing! if given the chance, i would sure love to try this eco-friendly lingerie, and save the environment by doing a littleeee bit.
Nonetheless. that is of course not the only way to saving Gaia.
- you can start bringing recycled bags out when you go grocery shopping, to minimise the usage of PLASTIC BAGS. fyi, we need to BUY/PURCHASE plastic bags overseas, in order to encourage the use of recycled bags.
- recycle more by putting your unwanted stuffs into recycle bins! i.e. glass, aluminium cans etc. of course you can encourage your family members and neighbours and influence more people!
- buy minimally packaged goods. i know we (especially girls) are always attracted by nice and colourful packaging. but most of the time these packaging end up in our dustbin. so people, think before you buy!
- unplug unused electronics. Even when electronic devices are turned off, they use energy.
- start using energy conserving bulbs! they help to save electricity cost tooo!
- reduce usage of air-conditioners too. its a vicious cycle i know. the temperature gets hotter, we tend to on it more.
- Last but not least, use more eco-friendly things, eg. recycled paper, Sloggi’s eco-friendly bra! :D
I LOVE the WORLD. there’s too much I have not seen. We NEED to save the Earth before its too late. So peoplee, please start sooon! (: Like I mentioned, even lingeries can be made up of recycled materials, what is now impossible? I really think the only lacking part is every human being’s contribution. I alone can do no wonder, but if everybody plays a small part, we WILL make a difference.

I was as busy as a bumble bee since my last paper (of my poly education!) ended on the 3rd of March, 2.40pm.
Almost couldn’t contain my excitement about girlies coming over to JB, at the same time, I was so worried there was nothing to entertain them at night! Thank goodness it all went well, and I hope you girls enjoyed it as much as I did. Even though it was reallllll tiring. Enjoyed bringing you girls around, lovin’ the lil’ sweet treats ( Snow Ice & Uncle Bob!!) that I recommended, BRIDGEEE! that made us reaaaaaally high, all the chats and catching up (because we were really busy with school we didn’t really hung out)! ((:
Up next was the annual dinner and dance organised by our chemical and life sceinces school. It was an awesomeee night. Girlies headed to Rebel after that! Superrrr shiok! ;) We also booked a hotel room @ Pan Pacific hotel so we headed back after which!! What an experience! :D Photos shall be up soon after I manage to resize them..
Will be heading to Germany/Austria for holidays tomorrow for the next 9 days or so! Seriously can’t wait!! And after I’m back it’ll be the Girlies graduation trip to Bangkok! Arghhh, hope all the demonstrations will be over by then. *keeps fingers crossed* Else..
Its a fantabulous March for me! :) I hope it is for all my friends too!! We’ve worked hard for 3 years! Its time to reallly let down our hair for once to enjoy before work/ university starts.
Back to university.. I’m still thinking. NUS? NTU? Or overseas. NUS seems a tad too overwhelming for me, as in the stress level. Seniors who are the cream of the crop already are whining about the work load. I don’t think I can take it, 3 years of poly was already very stressful! How to take 3 more years of such stress! No exemptions as well boooo. Haven’t heard much about NTU but everyone says NUS is better in this field (this is only my opinion.). But NTU allows direct 2nd honours, I think! Having said all this, I feel that I’ve already made up my mind. Shall wait for all the offers from the university! Hope they’ll accept me, before I consider!
Shall continue another day after my Germany trip perhaps! Meanwhile have fun! I understand its the March holidays! Xoxoxo.
