Happy Merdeka 2010!

Here comes another celebration!

Its the 31st of August!

HAPPY 53TH BIRTHDAY MALAYSIA!

800px-Flag_of_Malaysia.svg

As far as I remember, Merdeka day had always fell on Weekends or at least the Fridays, so I could always enjoy the myriad of fireworks just outside my window at home in JB.

But this year, since it falls on a Monday, a schooling day, I’m unable to admire it this year.. Awwww.

I can’t even hear fireworks; so unlike the entry I penned down two years back.

:)

Nevertheless,

I wish for a safer country for my family and I to live in! (My main concern!) I hate to live in fear, and in fear of my family member’s safety.

& Of course a more prosperous country!! :D

p.s.: can I request for faster internet too? :P not too greedy am i?

Once again,

HAPPY MERDEKA, MALAYSIA!

(Merdeka basically means Independence day! :D )

The good ol’ times!

Hello guys! :D

Heh, its Friday! TGIF! *rejoices* Heh, I spent my Thursday fruitfully, like totally enjoying life! :) Which is why I couldn’t find the time to leave an entry despite saying I would.

I hope you had a good Friday night, the start of the weekends, cheers to Saturday and Sunday! :] Its 2am already, and I’ve done absolutely nothing related to school work. Meaning, no work cleared. I swear I’ll have to shut the laptop away from myself to complete at least some stuffs before I procrastinate further. I.lack.focus. =(

Besides the point! I had a good Friday evening today. I went for a mini gathering at my Primary/Secondary School tuition teacher’s place!! Met 4 other of my tuition mates! It was great catching up, I really liked the feeling of how it feels like. Like how we update each other about stuffs. I’m totally glad it was not extremely awkward as I thought it would be, because I haven’t met one of them at least years! & It isn’t easy to meet up because everyone is taking different paths right now, some studying locally, some overseas.

We’re all growing up. In a pace that’s scary. I’ve started taking tuition from this teacher since, probably Primary 6? And wow, I just counted, its been at least 8 years. Its good talking about old times, asking about how the other friends are doing. The good thing is that its a Johorian-studying-in-Singapore network, so basically its like a small circle of friends (of the same batch, year 1990) and everyone knows almost everyone.

I love gatherings! :)))

This suits exactly how gatherings are, to me. And to me, its good. =)

Had dinner after that @ Auntie’s place. ;) & It feels great, awesome, superb to be home! I guess it all boils down to loneliness built up while staying in sg. As for now, probably more than half the time, I’m alone at home.

Ironically, when times are bad (not literally), I’d prefer to be alone at home. Humans are just weird. Okay, maybe its just me.

Yeap, don’t ask me where, I won’t be able to answer you as yet. But I’ll probably be somewhere, someday.

I’m nuts about inspiring quotes; & I hope you get inspired too. Somehow, or rather. :))

Haven’t visited tumblr for weeks, wondered if it hit a month! I miss my tumblr so so much! It feels so good to be back, for just awhile. :)))

Alright I’ll be back really soon! I’ve photos to post :D :D!

Sweet treats @ Cedele

Hello everybody! :D
(I’m typing this entry on my BB for the 2nd time!! Pffft! :C )
Its Wednesday already, cheers to mid-week! I bet the whole lot of us are rejoicing! I’m too anticipating the weekends! Its when I can spend some time away from the drowning school work!

Point of realisation whereby the amount of work to do will never deplete unless I “clear” them daily. Work always accumulates. Never stagnant.. Gotta adapt to clearing my work everyday to prevent them from adding on!

I had a good start to the week! Monday saw me having dinner with Felix & Gillian @ NYNY, Citylink! Afterwhich, we walked around because I wanted to get a new bag. Couldn’t find something I really like so I gave up. We were also looking for cafes with decent-looking desserts for a sweet treat! & ended up at Cedele, Raffles City Shopping Centre!

This is my Chocolate Truffle cake. I quite like it and its the best choice among the 3 different desserts we ordered!

IMG_1815
This is F’s Cookies& Cream Cheesecake! Its the horriblest cookies&cream cake I’ve ever eaten, honestly! Furthermore it was the ‘cheesecake of the day’.. Uh, disappointing!

IMG_1817
This is G’s Chocolate Fruit tart! I think it tastes mediocre only. Tried a little of the crust..

Although the cakes were not entirely satisfying, I love the idea of having desserts after dinner! :p

I had been eating a lot of desserts these days! Had Udders’ ice cream and Gelaré waffles last Thursday and Friday, respectively! Talk about diet.. Maybe sometime later! Haha!

:D I love Wednesdays because Thursdays are off-school days! :D I’ll update again! Perhaps tonight!

Cute Little Litter Munchers!!

Are you one who’s picky & choosy for every single thing you buy? Say, even your very own dustbin? HAHA! To be honest, I’m one choosy person, to the extend that I will only buy something (as simple as my dust bin) if I really like it!! =P

For example, my dustbin MUST be pink in colour, and the shade of pink must be nice! *I know nice is subjective, so it must at least be nice, to me* Hehe! I absolutely love it when I buy things in the shades of PINK! :)

& Why am I talking about dustbins out of no where?!?!

Its because, this Saturday (21st of August), I headed down to Holland Village with a few bloggers to *admire* these cute litter munchers!

If you’re wondering what on Earth am I babbling about on and on..

These litter munchers that I’ve been talking about are litterbins that have been creatively embellished to engage youths to take ownership to keep their surrounding environment clean. It is a nationwide campaign organised by the National Environment Agency (NEA) to curb littering!

There are a total of 5 different litter munchers..

Print

& of all, Munster Muncher is my favourite!!!!!!

I was super excited and elated to see Munster Muncher yesterday and I swear it looked better in REAL than in this photo above! This photo prototype above isn’t doing Munster Muncher justice… Coz you can really see the furry texture of the Munster! HEHEHE. I have a fetish for furry things, even though its a bin this time round! >.>

Besides Munster Muncher, Robo and Inda Bingo Muncher was there @ Holland V too! :D

I don’t really fancy robots but Robo Muncher looked cute too! It looks exactly like how it appears here! Inda Bingo Muncher was cool too, with its spear and shield, the real bin we saw was an exact replica of the one shown above. Impressive. Imagine how much effort and time is spent just to embellish a mundane bin to such cute lil’ interesting character-bins!

Not forgetting, an interactive website, http://www.littermunchers.com.sg/ had been created just for you guys! There are games and contests going on. The on going contests allows you to design your own litter muncher and stand to win fantastic prizes!! Don’t believe you see for yourself!

I also want Apple iPad! T_T I’m gonna take part in the contest too, after I’m done with all my tutorials! :DDD!!! Hope I can win something! :3

Anyway, the bottom line of this campaign is to inform and encourage ALL OF US to curb the habit of littering! We all know how ‘convenient’ & easy it is to litter but if everyone controls the lazy litter bug in us, we’ll all have a better place to live in!!!

The NEA is taking alot of effort to make nice dustbins to make us stop littering to make Singapore a greener, cleaner city, so all it takes is a little more effort to hold on the rubbish that we have for a little longer until we find a bin to dump it! :D

Okay shall not continueeee typing so much! Show you some piccas! :D

IMG_1802

Thats the ecstatic me with Munster Muncher! <3 It looks damn cute right! Especially its tongue which is sticking out!

IMG_1803

A closed up shot of Robo!

Another personal photo of Munster! Love it!

IMG_1808

This is Inda Binga!!! Told ‘cha! So much effort! :)

IMG_1806

& If you were observant enough, the first 50 people who takes a photo with these Litter Munchers could claim a drink coupon from Wala Wala! This is my coupon!

IMG_1810

& All of us went to Wala Wala to chillax! :D

IMG_1811

This is the drink I ordered! A mocktail – Mango Crush! HAHA! *No alcohol*

IMG_1812

When we were leaving, there were still alot of people taking photos with the bins! HEHE. So cute lah! Actually the whole time we were there, there are alot of people who were there too!

HAHA! I ended my Saturday night after that and headed back to JB! Super long day where I left home at 9am! But it was a good day spent! ;)

I’ll update again! :D

Au Revoir Taipei – Movie Review

Yesterday was the day I stepped into the theatres after awhile. (Last movie I watched was Sorcerer’s Apprentice!)

I managed to catch the movie I’ve always wanted to, which was Au Revoir Taipei. The reason why I wanted to watch was, firstly because of my extreme-fascination/fetish for Taiwan. Its a country I’ve been wanting to go, to nom-noms at their night market, to shop till I drop. Secondly, the poster was really intriguing, nicely designed, deceiving enough.

au-revoir-taipei-movie-poster

You see, nice or not!?!?!? Nice right??

Anyway. The whole duration of the movie was 83 minutes. The whole flick was really slow, so bad that it felt like I had been watching the movie for 2-3 hours already, but in reality, it was only around an hour. It was the first movie (from what I could remember), that I had the urge of leaving the theatres half way. (OH, I remember, the other movie I really left the theatres was ‘PERHAPS LOVE’, it was a musical-like movie, few years back.) But well, I stayed on of course..

I’d give this movie 2/5 stars. My friend said I’m already very generous. HAHA!

At the end of the 83 minutes, I felt like I wasted 83 minutes of my time, and 6 bucks on watching the movie!

I was so jealous of the person who was queuing infront of me at the ticketing booth. They bought tickets for Step up 3. :C :C :C I think any other movies which was showing would be better than this lur!

Au-Revoir-Taipei-11

Okay, this was their funny ending scene..

But well well, this movie was good in the sense it was able to portray some of the highlights of Taipei/Taiwan. Like their food street etc. It’d probably be better as a tourism-related advertisement instead of a movie, except that its too draggy and long.

No matter what, I’d still love Taiwan, and someday in the near future, I hope my dreams will come true. I want to be on the lands of Taiwan for a short trip soon!! :]
