I’m smiling again
Jun 16th
I found this photo in brother’s camera, and I love it.
I like how happy I appeared.
Sometimes its easier to pretend your happy rather than explain why you’re not.
On the contrary,
Never frown; because you never know when someone’s falling in love with your smile.
So in short, its easier to smile than to be upset.
Smile, because its the best exercise for the muscles on your face.
Smile, because it makes you look good.
Smile, because you might make another sad person smile.
Smile, because you still have to get through the day even if you cry, so why not?
There’s a thousand and one good reasons to smile! :)
If anyone is a little down like how I felt earlier on, may this post light up your smile once again!
I’m smiling again! :D
Shrek Forever After: A movie Review
May 28th
Movie reviews!!
Caught Shrek Forever After: The Last Chapter in the theatres on Tuesday after an impromptu decision when we were in Universal Studios (USS) on Monday. The super-steady-4-of-us who went to USS together, decided that we’ll catch Shrek the day after! :D
Ahhhh. I have to admit, I slept through almost half the movie, and woke up occasionally and fall back asleep again. Its really not that the movie was that bad. I was just too tired. My friends really enjoyed the movie. (Imagine I didn’t have enough rest since last Wednesday when I started work, and immediately after work on Sunday, I went to explore the USS on Monday. Yes. I’m that tired.) And yes, I recalled..some parts of the movie were funny, and it was quite a touching movie. I’d give a 3/5 ratings!
Right, back to the point. What I really loved about the movie was the ‘moral of the story’ which they were trying to bring across, which is to TREASURE AND CHERISH WHATEVER YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU LOSE THEM, AND END UP REGRETTING.
I’m going to be a spoiler. Shrek in this final chapter, was not satisfied about what he had and he wanted more. In the end, he lost all he had and wanted so much to be back to the past, to embrace what he used to have.
I think thats a pretty important lesson. Many of us are already very much better off than many many people living on this Earth and yet we are never satisfied. Human beings are never satisfied, true, but more importantly, know how to cherish.
Start with your own family members; cherish each other, tell your parents you love them, tell your siblings you care. :) Continue to show and spread your love to your friends.
“Do not take each day for granted, tomorrow is never guaranteed”
:) it doesn’t take much to show your appreciation, yeah? make people smile, i promise their smile will make your day.
that was what i learnt during work. i really appreciate customers who bother to say a thank you and also smile at me, it made my day a little more bearable.
hehe, paiseh i look so chui max! ;(
anyway! next entry would be on our UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE day! :D! stay tuned!
Thoughts for work
May 25th
Wow, the days felt like they were yesterday. Work ended on Sunday, 10pm. Thanks for sending us to Kranji, :D. Somehow I really couldn’t contain my excitement. Afterall its just a roadshow job, a temporary 5-day job. But I was filled with thoughts. Very random ones in fact. Let me list them down.. (of which some I’d randomly wrote on twitter.)
- ~80% of the people strolling around Takashimaya, Ngee Ann City had either a Louis Vuitton (LV), Longchamp, Gucci, and even Chanel. Are these branded goods really that affordable nowadays? Not to me though. Which makes me wonder why are so so so many people willing to spend big bucks on these designer goods. Durability? Design? or Glory?
- ~70% of them are either using an iPhone or a Blackberry. (More than half of my colleagues are using iPhone too.)
- Heartwarming scenes when I see many daddy(s) and mummy(s) who dote their kids very very much. They’d accompany their kiddos to try-on the 3D TV using the 3D glasses and occasionally had stares into their eyes to ask if they liked/enjoyed it. Its a very simple gesture but I could feel the love of a parent.
- Different people from all walks of life. Very mannered ones to very ill-mannered ones. The need to emphasize, its really not that hard to say a ‘Thank you’ right?
- Some people really can’t appreciate the 3D TV technology. Yes I agree wearing the 3D glasses are a hassle especially to people who are already using spectacles. But don’t you wow in awe when you see those amazingly impressive 3D graphics? I mean, just admit its good, but its troublesome.
- which brings me to the point that I really like customers who appreciate technology, who tell me that the 3D tv is AMAZING and IMPRESSIVE. I meant, even though I wasn’t the creator, I feel proud of what I’m promoting, it makes me feel good. These kind of people are never stingy with their praises, and I realised a handful of them came from the caucasians.
- Do not straightaway bombard the staffs and stereotype the products, no matter what you’re seeing. Remember they are JUST doing their job, doing what they are supposed/asked to.
I would continue till tomorrow if I don’t stop now.
Lesson to be learnt..
- Always remember your ‘P’s and ‘T’s – Please and Thank you! :)) It’d make people’s day. A smile to go with it would be x10294132 times better.
- Don’t scrutinise a product infront of the staff promoting/selling it – I myself am guilty of this sin, now that I know how it feels, I’ll try to control myself. (‘cuz I’m a very straightforward person as well.)
- Don’t blame the staffs for the products which you’re unsatisfactory about. Afterall, it was just their job to deliver whatever information you needed to know.
I had some experiences which I didn’t liked and remembered!
#1 When one old uncle with tattoos(!) talk to me alot and ended up giving me his name card, asking me to contact him when I go clubbing/ need someone for dinner. (wtf?!)
#2 Another supposingly a pilot who told me alot of interesting stuffs which can be seen while he’s in the cockpit, and ended up asking me what do I do on Friday nights?!!!!
#3 A last epic failure uncle who pretended (I guess he was pretending) to be all interested about the 3D TV and wanted to buy except that he wanted to get his family member with a certain bank’s credit card to get further rebates. He told me he’ll ask his family member to look for me, and asked me ‘how to contact you?’. (Obviously I didn’t give him my number) And I think it was all a scam because no one looked for me to buy a 3D TV lah! :S
Anyhows. I’ll update again!!! :D
Graduation post next ! ^^ I had a hard time editting every single pic. HAHA.
Camwhore before work :p
taken on the last day of work :P
BACK FROM WORK !
May 24th
Just a short post to let y’all know I ish back, alive and kickin’ (okay not really) :D
Gonna go Universal Studio Singapore tomorrow with a few awesomey friends. WOOHOOOO! :D I’ll be back with loads of photos =) REST ASSURED.
Anyway. Work was crazily tiring. My routine for 5 days was – wake up at 6.45am, bathe, get ready by 7.40, leave home for customs, reach customs by 8, bus to kranji, mrt to orchard.
and when work ends at ~10, punch card, chiongzz to orchard mrt via wisma atria, bus back to JB from kranji, and reach home at ~11.40pm!!!
CRAZY ANOT.
but this is not the point. the point is its tiring because I’m working 10am-10pm @ the DENKI show (best denki’s roadshow @ TAKASHIMAYA SQUARE, NGEE ANN CITY). And everyday I stood for at least 10 hours.
My small calves muscles are really tensed and muscular now. :’(( I can feel them expanding.
Finally realised it wasn’t easy to earn money, especially now that its just the start. Everything starts from scratch. I know why money is called ‘HARD-EARNED MONEY’, ‘XUE HAN QIAN’ in chinese. The importance of money..
Nevertheless, met some awesome colleagues who were really fun, entertaining and nice!! :) They took care of me for the 5 days, buying me drinks :p and sweets too! Hehehehe. Thank you Samsung TV guys @ DENKI SHOW! ^^. Met some other promoters from Acer, Canon etc as well.
I really had fun, but I never stopped complaining about the tiredness. It was almost unbearable I was so afraid my feets would give way. Yes it was that bad. And my shoes were not helping at all too. Hurts me damn badly. Changed 4 shoes in 5 days, non of them suitable to stand long hours.
Aiya, lots of stuffs to talk about. (prolly because its my first job, i have lots of trails of thoughts.) I’ll be back! :D Keep checking out anna.my.
