WELCOME 2 TAIWAN! :D (Do you remember those advertisements years back?)
I’ve been hearing and seeing Taiwan tourism related advertisements for years and years, compounded with my obsession with Taiwanese pop stars, so I’ve been longing to step my foot into this heavenly place (I assumed). *day-dreams that I’d meet stars like Wu Zun, Jay Chou, Rainie Yang, etc etc….*
& It was my very FIRST time there! Can you imagine my excitement!!!
*Beware, heavy post with lots of photos!*
Boy, I was so impressed with this country, it will be a place I would never get sick of visiting, I guess!! Not just because of the shopping, which everyone raves about. But also because of their excellent service and attitude. I would elaborate more as I blog of those instances! (Of course there would be some exceptions but generally, I’d had pleasant experiences in my 9 or 10 days spent in Taiwan!)
(I just so happen to be bloghopping, and saw QiuQiu’s post about bad service, and yes, I totally agree Singapore really have to improve in the service sector.)
Since it was my first visit, the parents decided that we should tour the whole of Taiwan. Not literally though, (it can never be done in 9/10 days!) but generally we went to the few main cities there, like Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and of course Taipei!
After so much praising, the only thing I’m unhappy about was the weather. It rained so much when we were there it just dampens the mood! =( Everything was so inconvenient, and we even bought ponchos because of the rain! You’ll see in some of my photos! Rawhh..
Alright the photos shall do the talking! The photos will not be very organized because these photos are from my camera itself. Still waiting for the brother’s!

Taken at Jiu Fen. A very famous place I guess? Will show another photo with the name of the place!

Taiwanese’s favourite Bing Lang!! I didn’t try it though.

Random little crabs we had for lunch. Nothing really fancy!

See, I told you, we were in ponchos…… How memorable!! :3

This place is called Ye Liu. A must-go tourist attraction!

It was supposed to be a very scenic and picturesque preserved ‘park’.

But the weather was horrible. Not only did it rain, the winds were extremely strong. So disturbing we barely explored the place, took a glace from afar and left. Lol.

Photos look blur too because my lens were tainted with water droplets.

Brother hid his new and more pro camera. So I sacrifice my old Canon.

I take photos of them, nobody take photo for me. So, self-camwhore lor! :O The wind made my hair a total mess!

Hahah, we saw many people with overturned and out-of-shape umbrellas due to the wind! Hilarious sight, so glad we got ponchos instead of insisting on umbrellas.

All the stones you see in the photos above are naturally shaped by the waves through wear and tear over the years. & There is this particular stone there, that is said to resemble the Queen’s head. I didn’t take a photo of the real stone because of the weather, so this is what I captured instead! :p
Next, we went to Dan Shui!

Thats the Qing Ren Qiao (Lover’s bridge) in the background!

The lovely bridge! We didn’t walk through it because of the bad weather. I was alone anyway! So it might be a good thing else later I #foreveralone! :O It is rumoured that couples must walk up and down the bridge holding hands!
Afterwhich, it was to Dan Shui Lao Jie! (Dan Shui Old street!)

Basically to eat some delicacies there. This is something like a huge fishball called ‘Ah Gei’ with ‘dong fen’ and some stuffs in side! Quite yumyums in my opinion!

Very yummy!

Mountain pork sausages. Directly translated lol.

& This veryvery yummy red bean pancake!!! Which costed only NT.10!! Which is around RM1. LOTS OF FILLING! :D I got a photo of the name of the stall, will post later! So when you guys get around in Tw you can try this if you see the same brand! There’s alot of stalls selling all around Tw and we’ve tried several of them, and this is the best by far. (This is at Dan shui and we saw their chain stall in Shihlin night market too!)

My cute “stupid looking toy” which my brother rudely calls it. Urghh its so cute please.
We were on our way to Shih lin Night market! :DDD

According to our tour guide, this is the best fried chicken stall! Which explains the queue. :3 I actually queued for it.

There you go! If you wanna try it, remember that its the blue signboard one! I actually saw another stall just a few stalls away with the exact name but in a yellow signboard, and there was no queue there. :/

HAO DA DA JI PAI! :D

Happy face with the huge chicken cutlet! Om nom nom nom! It costs NT. 55 only! ^^

Saw this huge melon in one of the fruit juice stall. Thats mommy’s palm. Can you imagine how huge it is? HAHA.
Daddy says its a water melon. But why the ‘stripes’ like that one! Wheres the dark and light green stripes? Mommy says its a winter melon. But got people make juice with winter melon?
Alright its a very heavy post I shall continue in my next post!
