NUSSU Rag & Flag 2011!

Hello lovelies! :D

How did you guys spend your national day holiday? I hope it was great no matter how it was spent.

As i’ve previously mentioned, I attended the annual NUSSU Rag day on 9th of August! Its the 2nd time Rag day was held in conjunction with national day, but it was the very 1st time it was held at the Promontory @ Marina Bay.

It was a wonderful day indeed, despite the super hot weather. The sun decided to work full force on that day; just shows how good a day it is right?! :) I’m more than glad it didn’t rain, imagine all the trouble the rain would have cost!

Anyway, the view from the promontory was spectacular and breathtaking. Marina Bay Sands was just right infront of me. & The national day parade held at the floating platform was just opposite us as well, which was broadcasted ‘live’ at the promontory! So basically I spent the whole afternoon and night at the promontory on that faithful day…

More importantly, this was the first time I spent national day watching the parade outside! The fireworks appeared as though they were just a stone’s throw away for me. Awesome!

After that, it was almost the time for the parade to start!

Suddenly realise the Singapore flag’s crest and stars were reflected on MBS! So cute! So I zoomed and took a close up shot!! :D

The only few photos of friends and I, that were taken that day on my camera! I look so ugly hehehe. But I love them! :D

NUS Rag Day 2010!!!

6th August 2010 was a very special day in NUS! A really memorable day for many students. Its called ‘Rag Day’, in short for Receiving and Giving. On this day itself, all the different faculties/halls in NUS would present their float and a short performance to the judges.. & Why is it memorable? Because they’ve worked on it for months. Look at how spectacular the floats look! If you’re wondering what floats, its like those you see during Chingay performance! But of course the faculties and halls were allocated with a certain budget and they can do up their float in whatever manner they’d like it.

This year is a little more special, because Rag day is in conjunction with the YOG torch lighting ceremony (?)..

Really glad I made a trip down to NUS to catch Rag day! :] I love the floats! I was mad impressed.

Yessss, they are actually balloons! So pretty eh! :D They were released to start off Rag Day 2010!

There was a screen that telecasted the performance because basically only the judges & some VIPs in the grand stand can see the performance at the best angle.. We all had to look at the screens or admire from far.

Science float!! Not because I’m from science, but our float is really nice! Alot of recycled materials were used too! This is not all for our float, but I didn’t manage to capture the other parts of our float :(

If only I got a good photo of our float. I’ll prolly source fb to get a good picca!

AHHHHH. I feel so out of this place, just because I have not written a proper entry for quite some time! Been updating this space very regularly and when I don’t have the time to, I feel some sense of..emptiness? It feels exactly like I missed out on something I should have done.

But anyway, I’m back and I’m gonna update this space!

As mentioned in the previous entry, it was my cousin’s wedding dinner, just two days ago.

Weddings.

I’ve been to aplenty weddings, cousins, relatives, parent’s friends, & a lecturer’s, etc.

But I always feel the same. They always give me the blissful feeling I’d like to feel. Its a once in a lifetime affair. Someday sometime later, I’d want to be the main character of a wedding too. HAHA!

Well well.. Lets think about the future when the time comes.

Meanwhile, PHOTOS! :D (I’ve taken the least photos this time round compared to the other cousin’s weddings. Perhaps I was really worn out and I look absolutely unappealing that night..lol. Oh yes, not forgetting, the ugly tan I got from SCamp has a part to play. & My fringe was a bitch that day and it decided to throw a fit!)

I’ll be in NUS for the next four days for another camp. This time, I’m attending the NUS Student Union (NUSSU) Camp. I was a tad disappointed with all the prior information for the camp, but I shall leave it aside for now. BECAUSE THE CAMP IS JUST TOMORROW! :D

I just hope it’ll be FUN (:
