Au Revoir Taipei – Movie Review
Aug 20th
Yesterday was the day I stepped into the theatres after awhile. (Last movie I watched was Sorcerer’s Apprentice!)
I managed to catch the movie I’ve always wanted to, which was Au Revoir Taipei. The reason why I wanted to watch was, firstly because of my extreme-fascination/fetish for Taiwan. Its a country I’ve been wanting to go, to nom-noms at their night market, to shop till I drop. Secondly, the poster was really intriguing, nicely designed, deceiving enough.
You see, nice or not!?!?!? Nice right??
Anyway. The whole duration of the movie was 83 minutes. The whole flick was really slow, so bad that it felt like I had been watching the movie for 2-3 hours already, but in reality, it was only around an hour. It was the first movie (from what I could remember), that I had the urge of leaving the theatres half way. (OH, I remember, the other movie I really left the theatres was ‘PERHAPS LOVE’, it was a musical-like movie, few years back.) But well, I stayed on of course..
I’d give this movie 2/5 stars. My friend said I’m already very generous. HAHA!
At the end of the 83 minutes, I felt like I wasted 83 minutes of my time, and 6 bucks on watching the movie!
I was so jealous of the person who was queuing infront of me at the ticketing booth. They bought tickets for Step up 3. :C :C :C I think any other movies which was showing would be better than this lur!
Okay, this was their funny ending scene..
But well well, this movie was good in the sense it was able to portray some of the highlights of Taipei/Taiwan. Like their food street etc. It’d probably be better as a tourism-related advertisement instead of a movie, except that its too draggy and long.
No matter what, I’d still love Taiwan, and someday in the near future, I hope my dreams will come true. I want to be on the lands of Taiwan for a short trip soon!! :]
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice – Movie Review
Aug 8th
Finally finally, I caught Sorcerer’s Apprentice in the theatres yesterday! And I’m glad I did catch it!
I LOVE THE MOVIE.
I’m not a ‘magical’ (& cartoon) person. I never liked Harry Potter. But I was intrigued by the storyline of this movie, even though it was ‘magically-based’, so to speak, as its about Sorcerers.
I didn’t fall asleep at all. :) *proud*
I especially love it because it had a sweet and happy ending! :DDD~ It makes me smileeee. & The apprentice is sucha hunk! ;)
I’d rate this movie a 4/5*! *There are still many timing slots available in JB and probably the whole of Malaysia, so M’sians, this movie is worth watching! :D*
My favourite characters! :DDDDD

Aug 4th
If you have followed me on twitter.. You’d have known I went for a movie preview today! Thanks to HP! :D and Yes, I watched Salt today! ( And if you haven’t, its not too late to follow NAO! :P )
I wouldn’t reveal much about the storyline, else I’d be a spoiler. Since it isn’t even released yet..
But on the overall, I quite like the movie. Except that it probably lacks a climax? And.. I’m pretty sure, uhm, I mean, I’m expecting a Salt II sometime later.. HAHA!
I hope I’m not revealing too much!
Anyway, I’ll rate the movie 3.5/5.
Not forgetting, Angelina Jolie’s HOT STUFFFFFFF!!! (I want 20% of her HOTNESS PLZXZXZX)
SEE FOR YOURSELF! (& her role in the movie just made her more attractive. brainy.!!!! opps I’ll stop for now!)
HOTTTT! :}
Hope you like the moviee like I did too :D

After Shock – Movie Review!
Jul 27th
After shock, the movie, was only made known to me during my previous visit to the cinemas. I caught the trailer.
It was heart wrenching. Totally pains me to see that lil girl like that. You gotta catch the trailer too, to know what am I talking about! No regrets!!
Watch the trailer here: After Shock Trailer!
The movie depicts the scenes of a terrible natural disaster an earthquake in Tang Shan (唐山大地震) in the year 1976. Knowing that it was a real-life story just made it worst, more heart-aching. This tragedy took 240,000 lives away.. =’(
Thanks to OMY.SG, I got to catch the preview of the movie After Shock. & I brought Ruo Yan darling to catch the movie with me! :))
As expected, it was a movie that draws tears from its audiences. Many were whizzing and sobbing inside the theatres, and I was almost reduced to tears during some scenes..
I’d rate the movie 3.5/5.
Do catch the movie on the 29th of July when its out in the cinemas! PREPARE TISSUE PAPER OKAY IF YOURE A PERSON WHOSE TEAR DUCTS ARE ACTIVATED EASILY! :(
Synopsis:
When a mother is informed by the rescue team that, as her 7-year old twins are buried under the debris close to each other, digging one out would result in further collapse of the wreckage on the other, she is forced to make the most difficult decision of her life. As the clock ticked away, she finally ended her struggle and chose to save the boy, and though heartbroken, she had no idea her decision was overheard by the daughter. Deemed as a dead person, the little girl miraculously survived and was rescued after being buried under for days. Suffering from the emotional shock of the disaster and the painful memory of her mother’s choice, she refused to reveal whom she was. She was adopted by a young couple and later moved to the US, but shadowed by the traumatic experience from her childhood, she forever remained emotionally closed up.
When the Sichuan earthquake takes over 80,000 lives in 2008, she volunteers to join the rescue team and returns to her homeland, China. As she witnesses the tribulations people go through when a natural disaster takes place, she finally unlocks the pain she had felt all these years and finds forgiveness. She finally reunites with the mother and twin brother she had parted from after 32 years. A human drama about finding forgiveness, ‘Aftershock’ depicts not only the fatal tragedy that is brought on by a natural disaster of great levels, but also the strength and courage that is demonstrated when we are in face of extreme and devastating situations.
